This photo of the netball team from the mid 1950s was sent in by Maria McGANN (nee WELCH). The girls were from different year groups, so Maria can’t remember all the names. Left to right, from the back:

There were two sites. Parkstile opened in 1939, Stonebridge in 1956. In 1982, the school closed and the new Carr Lane Comprehensive opened on the Ellergreen site. Most of the pupils transferred there, but records show that some stayed at Stonebridge to be educated there by their parents. The Head at the time - Mr G W SMITH - retired.
