A school of many names! Originally an poor house, then an orphanage, then Leyfield RC (named after the white house). Subsequently named Bishop O’Reilley and Cardinal Allen (left - 1970s. Picture courtesy of Liverpool Rrecord Office)
Cardinal Allen amalgamated with St Margaret Mary’s Boys’ in 1983 to form Cardinal Heenan. The last Head of Cardinal Allen and the first head of Cardinal Heenan was Rev. CHEETHAM.
Started out as an orphanage, later opened as a school. Currently being rebuilt, alongside Broughton Hall.
